Abstract

Direction of arrival (DOA) estimation is an important research direction in array signal processing field. The array based direction of arrival (DOA) estimation techniques are broadly classified as: conventional techniques , subspace based techniques, maximum likelihood techniques & integrated techniques. The MUSIC (Multiple signal classification) algorithm is a high resolution technique based on exploiting the eigen structure of input covariance matrix. MUSIC is signal parameter estimation algorithm which provides
information about number of incident signals, DOA of each signal, strength and cross correlation between incident signals, noise power etc. Simulation result shows that proposed method gives high resolution DOA estimation. Therefore, technique has great potential to be implemented into existing wireless mobile communication system.
