EXACT EDGE DETECTION OF BUILDINGS FROM DIGITAL SURFACE MODELS
Keywords:
Digital Surface Models (DSMs), Segmentation, topographic maps, Hough TransformAbstract
This paper aims to detect exact ages of buildings from digital surface models which are above a certain height. The DSMs are usually corrupted by noise and due to presence of noise, the building edges appears to be broad, and the sharp corners to be curved. An algorithm is presented which uses both DSM and the original RGB image from which DSM is derived. The buildings which are above given height threshold are mapped into the RGB image and a correlation based edge detection algorithm is implemented.
