LUNG REGION EXTRACTION FROM CT IMAGES

Abstract

As Lung cancer is the most common cause of cancer deaths in the world in both men and women. Early detection and treatment of lung cancer can greatly improve the survival rate of patient. To detect lung cancer in its early stage it is very important to extract lung region carefully because it is the key and hardest task in auto detecting tiny nodes of cancer which may have information. This paper implements lung region extraction using methods of image processing.
